Camp Coordinator
Job summary
The camp coordinator is responsible for the planning, organisation and day-to-day management of summer camps. He/she supervises the activity team, implements activities, manages communications with parents, and ensures the safety and quality of the participants’ experience. This key role ensures the overall smooth running of the programme and the consistency of the activities offered.
Key responsibilities
1. Camp planning and organisation
- Develop weekly or seasonal activity schedules

- Collaborate in the creation of new activities or special projects
- Organise and lead pre-camp meetings, training sessions, or preparatory activities for the Team
2. Supervision and management of staff
- Supervise, support, and evaluate facilitators, instructors, and attendants.
- Ensure an active presence in the field to support the team.
- Intervening in difficult situations and providing professional guidance
- Manage task allocation, schedules, and replacements as required.
3. Day-to-day management and operations
- Ensure the smooth running of activities, transitions, arrivals and departures.
- Ensure that equipment is available and used appropriately.
- Monitor the condition of the premises, equipment and outdoor areas.
- Maintain a safe environment that complies with camp policies.
4. Relationship with parents and participants
- Welcome families and answer their questions in a professional manner.
- Manage communications regarding behaviours, incidents, allergies, or special needs.
- Ensure prompt, clear and respectful follow-up in sensitive situations.
- Promote a positive, inclusive and stimulating environment for young people.
5. Safety, prevention and incident management
- Implement and enforce emergency procedures and regulations.
- Intervene in the event of an accident, risky behaviour or a major problem
- Document incidents and inform those responsible.
- Contribute to team training in safety and group management.
6. Administration (if necessary)
- Participate in managing registrations and attendance lists.
- Write reports, end-of-camp reviews, or administrative follow-ups.
- Manage an equipment budget or make authorised purchases.
- Collaborate in the overall evaluation of the programme.

Requirements
- Significant experience in camp leadership and/or management.
- Experience in team supervision or coordination (a significant advantage).
- Knowledge of children’s needs and best practices in leisure activities.
- First aid certification (mandatory or to be obtained).
- Mandatory criminal record check.
- Available throughout the camp period.
- To be bilingual
- Be aged between 18 and 30
- Be able to travel independently (driving licence)
Working conditions
- Full-time seasonal position, Monday to Friday, from 11 May to 28 August (subsidised)
- From 29 August to 11 October, Friday to Sunday – Self-employed
- Salary: $25/hour
- On-site work
