Childcare manager

General role

The person responsible for childcare services plans, organises and supervises the childcare services offered to children attending summer camps. She ensures a safe, caring and structured environment, complementing camp activities, while supporting the activity team and communicating with families.

Job description

Organisation and planning

  • Receiving and relaying children’s specific concerns or needs
  • Plan the day-to-day running of the childcare service (hours, routines, groups)
  • Develop a schedule tailored to the needs of camps and families
  • Organise calm and appropriate activities before and after camps.
  • Ensure that the necessary equipment is available and ready for use.

Supervision and guidance

  • Welcoming children and supervising them before and after camp activities
  • Ensure compliance with rules, routines and safety standards.
  • Intervening in a caring manner in situations of conflict or special need
  • Ensuring children’s physical and emotional wellbeing

Team management

  • Encadrer et soutenir les préposé e•s au service de garde (le cas échéant)
  • Convey instructions and ensure good communication within the team.
  • Work closely with the camp coordination and facilitation team.

Communication with families

  • Welcoming parents and ensuring clear and respectful communication
  • Pass on relevant information about the day’s schedule.
  • Receiving and relaying children’s specific concerns or needs

Health, safety and compliance

  • Implement internal policies and emergency procedures
  • Ensure compliance with ratios, attendance and departure authorisations.
  • Keep the required records (attendance, incidents, medication, etc.)
  • Ensure that the areas used are kept clean and tidy.

Working conditions

  • Seasonal position from 22 June to 28 August 2026
  • Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Hourly rate: $22/hour
